"Sky Jumpers" is a wonderful middle-grade novel, showing kids that everyone adds value and is special in their own way. I loved Hope's tenacity and perseverance even in the face of great adversity. She can't invent, and that is what is valued most in her society, but she is able to rise above that and contribute the skills she does have. The world building was fairly creative, I loved the idea of the aftermath of bombs creating deadly, invisible clouds, and the fact that Hope didn't let the danger keep her from exploring the countryside with her friends. The story moved along at a good clip and the villains were interesting, I just wish they had a little more depth, although I could say that for all the characters. I didn't really feel like I connected with any of them throughout the story.
