I have been trying to force myself to read this for a while now, but every time I sat down to try to read it, it felt like a chore--I wasn't enjoying myself at all. My main issue is the main character, Emmy. I find her ungrateful, annoying, and arrogant (at least in the small part I read). Every person that is introduced feels like a hollow, flat, stock character that I could easily pull out of hundreds of other YA books if I wanted to. I might at some point pick it back up and try again, but I just don't have the patience for this right now.
